building the vax
It's one thing to create a product that looks different. It's something else
to create one that IS different. With Vax, we've done both.
Everything on the Vax X3 and X5 models was designed and executed based off of
the NEXT CLEAN philosophy. People told us they wanted a vacuum that cleans well.
Our engineers designed Vax to have more suction power than Dyson when
measured at the floor nozzle* - where cleaning power is needed most.
Customers also identified the need for a vacuum that was easier to use. From
top to bottom, we added features that virtually eliminated the need to bend and
stretch. One feature I personally like is the bottom-release dirt cup. There's
no lid to unscrew. No messy filter to touch. Just pull the release lever and
dirt drops out. It's truly simple and mess free.
Another innovation that makes Vax easier to use is the retractable cord. We
asked our team to make the cord long enough to clean a generous amount of area
without having to stop and find a new outlet. Plus, it winds away automatically
for neat storage at the touch of a foot switch. No bending required.
The product development didn't end when we had our first Vax built. Vax was
tested, refined, and tested again to ensure that it truly was the next
generation of upright vacuum cleaners. I'm sure Vax owners will agree.
